SUNSHINE COAST SHOPPING TRIP

🌟 A Huge Thank You from Forestview Kindergarten! 🌟

We’re so excited to share that our final fundraiser for the year — our Sunshine Coast Shopping Bus Trip held on Saturday, 8th November — was a wonderful success! 🚌🛍️

Thanks to the amazing support of our families, friends, and local businesses, we raised an incredible $2,120! 🎉

These funds will go directly towards updating our Kindy resources and help with many projects that will make a real difference for our little learners. 💛

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and helped make the day so special. We’re so grateful for our beautiful community.

OUR GLOBAL CITIZEN IDENTITY

In this deeply personal reflection, Teacher/Director, Louise Stallard from C&K Forestview Community Kindergarten shares her own journey as part of the 2024 Metro North Coast Global Citizenship Community of Practice, as well as the many layers of the centre’s Global Citizenship story.

Our Powerful Question: “How can we support families to deepen their understanding of education through a global citizenship lens where dispositions (Qualities of Character) and a greater awareness of a global citizenship identity is highly valued to support their child on their journey to become a global citizen.”

Forestview Kindy would like to say a BIG thank you to Paul Beutel Photography for a recent donation of $150!! 🤗 Your continued support year after year means the world to us!! It is local businesses like Paul’s that continue to make such a huge impact on our educational program here at Forestview!! And an even BIGGER thank you to Paul for delivering our amazing kindy portraits and group class photos. They all looked fantastic (and you certainly worked hard and did some silly things to achieve a few of those
smiles)!! 📸

PLEASE CHECK OUR THE RECENT ECTA (EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS ASSOCIATION) JOURNAL SHARING THE RECENT WORK OF OUR CENTRE DIRECTOR/EDUCATIONAL LEADER – LOUISE STALLARD AND C & K PEDAGOGICAL ADVISOR – CARROLYN IRELAND.

Something to celebrate.

Over the past 18 months our Educational Leader Mrs Louise and our C & K Pedagogical Advisor – Carolynn Ireland, with and alongside the Forestview Team have been working on a Leading Global Competence research project which culminated in the development of our centre poster – We are Global Citizen at Forestview Kindy (see below and around Kindy). Mrs Louise presenting her research at the ECTA (Early Childhood Teachers Association) conference last year and then a follow up article being printed in the latest ECTA journal which is shared with fellow early childhood educators all over the state. We are so excited to see our work being shared amongst our peers and hopefully, just maybe influence their thinking and actions in their daily practice as we all work to support our children to be competent and capable global citizens. Periodically you will see us reference our set of global citizen values (from the poster) in our learning stories on Storypark to help you make connections to our work in this area.

If you are curious or keen, the ECTA article has been attached for your reading pleasure.
