Recently we welcomed Melissa to our kindy to read to us the latest ONE BOOK ONE BUNDY STORY – “Wombat Stew”. Many of us had heard or or had listened to this story before but we communicated pretty clearly that it is a story we love because it has a singing part and it had a wombat and a koala in it – the names of our Forestview Kindy groups.
First Melissa talked about all the characters in the story and showed us that she had a corresponding puppet. Then it was Mrs Louise’s job to operate the puppets while Melissa told the story. She made great “SSSSS” noises for the blue tongue lizard and yawned just like a sleepy Koala.
We then had a surprise for Melissa…..we taught her how to make Wombat Stew kindy style and acted out the story using props from around our Kindy environment.
THANKS, MELISSA, FOR COMING TO SHARE THIS AMAZING STORY WITH US AS PART OF YOUR ROLE AS C & K’s Community Liaison Officer. We loved seeing all the puppets your brought along to bring the story to life and also loved showing you how to make Wombat Stew Kindy style.
